The treatment
About tinting
A tint is a professional dye that adds colour to your brows or lashes. On brows, it brings out light or fine hairs so your natural shape is easier to see. On lashes, it colours each lash from root to tip, including fair ends that mascara can miss. Henna brows go a step further: a brow henna tint colours the hairs and lightly stains the skin underneath, for a bolder, more structured look.

Your appointment
What to expect
First, we chat about the look you’re after and choose a shade together.
Your skin is cleansed and protected, with soft pads placed under your eyes for a lash tint.
For henna brows, we map out your shape first so the colour follows the line you want.
The tint is applied and left to develop for a few minutes.
Finally, we remove the tint and tidy the edges, and you’re ready to go.
Before your appointment
- Remove brow and eye makeup beforehand if you can, so the tint can take evenly.
- If you wear contact lenses, bring your case, as they need to come out for a lash tint.
Aftercare
- Keep tinted areas dry for 12–24 hours, and skip saunas, steam rooms and swimming.
- Avoid oil-based cleansers and makeup removers on the area, as they can fade the colour sooner.
- Leave scrubs, retinol and exfoliating acids off your brows to help the colour last.
- Brush your brows and lashes each day with a clean spoolie.
Good to know
- A patch test is needed at least 24–48 hours before your first appointment, for tints and henna brows alike. We may ask for another if it’s been a while, or if your health or medication has changed.
- Had a reaction to hair dye, a tint or a ‘black henna’ tattoo before? Tinting may not be suitable, so let us know and we can suggest other options.
- We’ll suggest waiting if there’s an eye infection, a stye, or irritated or broken skin near the area.
- Had recent eye surgery, or have very sensitive or watery eyes? Please check with us before a lash tint, and with your doctor after surgery.
FAQs
Common questions
How long does a tint last?
Brow tint typically lasts 2–4 weeks and lash tint around 4–6 weeks, as hairs naturally shed and regrow. With henna brows, the skin stain usually fades within 1–2 weeks, while colour on the hairs can last several weeks. Results vary.
Will it look too dark?
It shouldn’t. You decide how soft or bold to go, and we can keep it subtle. With a standard tint, any colour on the skin usually fades within a few days.
Should I choose a tint or henna brows?
If your brows are full but light in colour, a standard tint is often enough. If they’re sparse or patchy, henna brows are usually the better pick for a fuller look. Not sure? We’re happy to help you decide on the day.
Can I add a tint to my brow shape?
Yes, they pair well. A brow or lash tint takes about 15 minutes and henna brows about 20, and you’ll find brow and lash packages on our pricing page.
