The treatment
About facials
A facial is a hands-on treatment that cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates your skin. The express facial is a quick refresh for a busy day. The deep cleansing facial allows more time and adds steam and extractions where suitable, so it’s a good choice if your skin feels congested or it’s your first facial. You can also add a relaxing head massage, or face bleach, which lightens fine facial hair so it’s less noticeable.
Clean, refreshed skin
Cleansing and exfoliation help your skin look and feel clean, smooth and refreshed.
Soft, hydrated feel
A mask and moisturiser help skin feel soft, comfortable and hydrated afterwards.
Time to switch off
Lie back, breathe out and enjoy a calm pause in a busy week.

Your appointment
What to expect
We ask how your skin has been feeling and which products you use at home.
Next, we cleanse and gently exfoliate to clear away makeup, oil and dead skin cells.
In a deep cleansing facial, warm steam helps soften the skin before gentle extractions, where suitable.
Then you relax under a mask, usually with a face massage too.
We finish with moisturiser and a quick rundown of how to look after your skin for the rest of the day.
Before your appointment
- There’s no need to arrive makeup-free, as every facial begins with a cleanse.
- Give face scrubs, exfoliating acids and retinol a break for a few days beforehand.
- Want a head massage as well? Add it when you book so we can allow enough time.
Aftercare
- Try to keep makeup off for the rest of the day so your skin can settle.
- Hold off on scrubs, exfoliating acids and retinol for a day or two.
- Wear sunscreen, and give saunas, steam rooms and hard workouts a miss until tomorrow.
- Resist picking or squeezing, and keep your skin comfortable with a gentle moisturiser.
Good to know
- Facials and face bleach aren’t suitable over sunburn, broken skin, an active cold sore or a skin infection, so please move your booking if needed.
- Using isotretinoin (such as Roaccutane) or a prescription retinoid? Tell us first, as some steps may not suit your skin right now.
- Let us know about allergies, rosacea, eczema, pregnancy, or any recent peels, laser or injectables before your appointment.
- Face bleach can tingle while it’s on. If it’s your first time, you’ve reacted to bleach before or your skin is very sensitive, please ask us about a patch test when you book.
FAQs
Common questions
Which facial should I choose?
Short on time? The express facial takes about 30 minutes and gives your skin a quick refresh. For a more thorough clean, the deep cleansing facial runs for 45 minutes or 1 hour. Not sure which suits you? Ask us when you book.
How often should I have a facial?
Every 4–6 weeks suits many people, but there’s no fixed rule. Some clients book before a special event, others whenever their skin feels like it needs a refresh.
What does face bleach do?
Face bleach lightens fine, dark facial hair so it’s less noticeable. It works on the hair only and doesn’t remove it, which makes it handy for areas you’d rather not thread or wax. You can choose face only, or face and neck.
Can I have a facial while pregnant?
Please tell us when you book. Some products and steps may not be suitable during pregnancy, so we’ll talk you through your options. If you have any concerns, check with your doctor or midwife first.
