The treatment
About threading
Threading is a hair removal technique practised for generations across Asia and the Middle East. We twist a length of thread and roll the twisted section along the skin, catching short rows of hair and lifting them out from the root. Because it can follow a fine line, it’s ideal for shaping brows. It works on the lip, chin, forehead, cheeks, jawline and neck too, for women and men. Results typically last 2–4 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows.

The thread follows your brow line closely, so we can refine the shape and help both sides look balanced.
No wax or heat
Only the thread touches your skin, which many people prefer for the delicate area around the eyes.
Done in minutes
A brow shape takes about 10 minutes, and small areas like the upper lip or chin about 5.

Your appointment
What to expect
Tell us the brow shape you have in mind, or which areas you’d like threaded.
The area is cleansed, and you may be asked to hold your skin gently taut.
We thread in small sections, then trim any long brow hairs if needed.
A soothing gel finishes the treatment, and we check the result with you in the mirror.
Before your appointment
- Want a new shape? Let your brows grow for 2–3 weeks first and avoid tweezing in between.
- Come with clean skin and no makeup on the areas you’re having done, if you can.
- Got an event coming up? Book a day or two ahead, so your skin is settled and ready for makeup.
Aftercare
- Try not to touch or rub the area for the rest of the day.
- For 24 hours, skip makeup, sun, swimming, saunas and heavy workouts.
- No scrubs, exfoliating acids or retinol on the area for at least 24 hours.
- A little redness is normal and usually fades within a few hours. Plain aloe vera gel can help it feel calmer.
Good to know
- Threading doesn’t need a patch test, so you can book straight in.
- If the area has broken skin, a rash, a cold sore, active breakouts or sunburn, we’ll suggest waiting until your skin has recovered.
- Tell us if you use retinol or other retinoid skincare, take isotretinoin (such as Roaccutane), or have had a peel, laser or microneedling recently, as your skin may be more delicate.

Common questions
Does threading hurt?
You’ll feel a quick plucking sensation as each row of hair lifts. Most people find it very manageable, and it usually feels easier once you’re coming in regularly.
How often should I come in?
Every 2–4 weeks keeps most brows looking neat, depending on how quickly your hair grows. Regular visits also make it easier to keep your shape consistent.
Can I have my face waxed instead?
Yes. Facial areas like the lip, chin and cheeks can be threaded or waxed, so go with whichever you prefer. Ears and nostrils are wax only. If you’re not sure, ask us on the day and we’ll talk you through both.
Do you shape men’s brows?
Yes. A men’s brow shape takes about 15 minutes. We keep it natural, tidying the middle, the edges and any strays so your brows look groomed rather than done.
